Two Arrested In Warrensburg Murder Case

 Two men are in custody at the Johnson County Jail in conjunction with the investigation into the death of a Warrensburg man this past weekend.

 Warrensburg Police were called to the 1000 Block of Sunflower at 9:30 Saturday night. Responding officers found William "Blaine" Whitworth, 25, dead at the scene. The Rural Major Case Squad convened Tuesday morning to begin their investigation on conjunction with the Warrensburg Police Department. At approximately 6:30 Tuesday night, Reginald L. Singletary of Warrensburg was arrested inSedaliaand transported back to Warrensburg for questioning. Singletary was booked on First Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action charges.

 Just after Midnight Wednesday, Ziyad T. Abid, 23, of Warrensburg was arrested by Warrensburg Police and booked on a First Degree Murder charge. Both are being held in the Johnson County Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

 A total of 34 Major Case Squad officers participated in the investigation, including members of the Missouri Highway Patrol and Police and Sheriff's Agencies from Johnson, Pettis, Henry,Lafayette, Saline andRayCounties.
