Area Law Enforcement Seeks Help in Identifying Body

A Message from the Benton County Sheriff's Office:

Area law enforcement agencies are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying a female body found floating in Truman Lake Sunday by a boater near Warsaw.

Benton County Sheriff Rick Fajen stated the body had been weighted down and that the body had been in the lake for at least a few days and possibly as long as six months. An autopsy has been performed and the death is considered suspicious.

Benton County Deputies describe the white female as 13 to 20 years old and about 5'8".   Anyone with information is asked to please contact the Benton County Sheriffs office at 660-438-5252 or the Missouri State Highway Patrol at 816-622-0800.
