11/07/2012

Johnson County Sheriff Chuck Heiss was elected to another term as Sheriff in a decisive win in Tuesday's General Election. With 100% of the votes counted in 11 precints, Heiss garnered 57.67% of the vote.

Upon learning of the win, Sheriff Heiss issues the following statement:

"The voting is over, the results are in, and we have won re-election. I want to congratulate my two opponents for caring enough about our community to get involved and place their names on the ballot. Elections are truly the foundation of our nation's government. Without men and women who are willing to get involved in the governance of our nation's communities our country would not the greatest nation in the world. Congratulations again to Brian Hobbs and Daniel Plemmons on your campaigns.

To my many supporters, I thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to participate in the parades, fund raisers, and other events. Most importantly I thank you for your vote. I will continue to work hard to represent you to the best of my ability. To the men and women of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office I say thank you. I said tonight that you are the reason for my success and I cannot thank you enough. Johnson county is truly blessed to be served by such a group of dedicated and determined law enforcement officers. I know the election process is stressful. I hope each of you know how honored I am to serve with you. The level of admiration and pride I feel for each of you cannot be adequately expressed in mere words. I pray Gods Blessings on each of you and on the Johnson County Sheriff's Office as we begin our next term together. May the Lord make his face shine upon each of you in the months and years to come. Thank you, and God Bless."
