Narcotics Operations Results in Numerous Search Warrants and Arrests

The following events recently took place here in Johnson County and within the city of Warrensburg. 

 

On November 20, 2018, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit, the Warrensburg Police Department Proactive Crime Unit and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Warrensburg Police Department Joint Special Weapons and Tactics Team, executed a narcotics related search warrant in the 200 block of SE 101 Rd., Warrensburg. During the investigation, Jonathan Neil Goodwin, age 36, of Warrensburg, was arrested on a 24 hour investigative hold for delivery of a controlled substance (possession with intent to distribute), unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

On December 13, 2018, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit, the Warrensburg Police Department Proactive Crime Unit and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Warrensburg Police Department Joint Special Weapons and Tactics Team, executed a narcotics related search warrant in the area of SE 13 Hwy and SE 240 Rd., Warrensburg. Arrested on a 24 hour investigative hold for delivery of a controlled substance (possession with intent to distribute) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia was Ian Ray Adams, age 22, of Warrensburg.

 

On December 18, 2018, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit, the Warrensburg Police Department Proactive Crime Unit and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Warrensburg Police Department Joint Special Weapons and Tactics Team, executed a narcotics related search warrant in the 200 block of SE 121 Rd., Warrensburg. During the search warrant, Jason Reed Noble, age 54, of Warrensburg, was arrested on a 24 hour investigative hold for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and Melvin Leon Jones, age 43, on a 24 hour investigative hold for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

On December 19, 2018, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Warrensburg Police Department Proactive Crime Unit initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of North and Washington Street, Warrensburg. During the course of the stop, Detectives arrested Joseph Michael Harvey, age 34, of Warrensburg, on a 24 hour investigative hold for felony possession of a controlled substance. Subsequently, a narcotics related search warrant was executed in the 900 block of Ridge Drive, Warrensburg. During the search warrant, Detectives located items associated with the distribution and use of a controlled substance.

 

This continuing effort made by the Sheriff’s Office and the Warrensburg Police Department is a testament of our dedication to the community. “We have observed a direct correlation between the use and/or sale of illegal drugs and the individuals who commit additional crimes related to burglaries, auto thefts, assaults, etc,” says Sheriff Munsterman.    Our Departments are committed to continuing these types of crime reduction efforts which help minimize the use/distribution of drugs and criminal activities.  With the continuing efforts of the area law enforcement agencies, our communities will be a safer and more secure place to live and raise our families.
