ABOUT US
The Johnson County Detention Center is a county jail that regularly houses state, city and local pre-trial and post-conviction detainees. Our mission is to safely and securely house the detainees held in the facility. The Detention Center has the capacity to house 200 detainees, with an average population of 175 detainees.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office recognizes and respects the value of all human life and the expectation of dignity without prejudice toward anyone. It is also understood that vesting law enforcement personnel with the authority to incarcerate suspected law violators to protect the public and prevent individuals from fleeing justice requires a careful balancing of individual rights and legitimate government interests.
